What size English endurance saddle do I need?
I currently ride in a Western size 16 (that is a little roomy) with full quarter horse bars. I borrowed an English endurance saddle with a wide gullet for my draft cross. It was believed to be a 17.5 seat. I loved it. It was very comfortable. However, I no longer have access to it and I would like to purchase a similar saddle online. (I realize the risk of online buying.) I know my horse takes a wide gullet 7″. How do I figure out what size is right for me? I am almost 5′ 10″ about a woman’s pants size 14 or 16, very active, solid build but not obese, with fairly long legs. Any suggestions for finding my the right size without acutually sitting in the saddle?
I’m a 12, 5′8″. I use a 16″ western or 18″ English, smaller… the flaps are too short and knee rolls above my knees. 
These should work for you to! Because of your height, you’ll have to look for saddles with long enough flaps! Your horse will need a wide tree.. Are the full quarter bars wide enough? Full drafter gullets are 9″, just to give you a comparison. 
I’m in favor of treeless saddles, especially for hard to fit horses.
Before you purchase online, at least hit up your local tack shops and sit in as many saddles as you can, though not many have endurance choices to try. If you order new online, many places will take the new condition saddle back!
