what english saddle size would fit me?
I’m about 5′6″ and weigh 140.
I have longish legs but not freakishly long.
my mom said at the tack shop that I looked like I fit
in a 16 but I went online&came across a few websites that
helped determine your seat size.
&all of the websites said I would be good in a 17 inch seat.
I’m buying a saddle online&don’t want to get one thats too small or too big.
so anyone else around my height&weight that could tell me what seat size I fit into?

from the 2 sizes you mention i’d try a 16.5, i know you’re buying off the web but it may be possible to ride in a friends saddle, try a 16, a 16.5 and a 17.
you should be able to sit comfortably in the saddle and fit about 3” or 4” between you and the pommel and roughly the same between you and the cantle as well, this only a rough guide though.
make sure it fits your horse as well!
each brand of saddles size may vary slightly so i’d suggest trying out the saddle you hope on buying first and read reviews of it if you can, these will give you an idea about the saddles size as well!!
