What is the Best Weed Control for our Equestrian Riding Arena?
I have an outdoor sand riding arena and I’m constantly battling weeds in the spring. What is the best way to stop them from growing in the first place? Any treatment out there that I can mix in the sand to keep weeds away before they sprout? Weeds are star thistle and other types of thistle and burmuda grass. I’m located in Northern CA if that makes a difference. My arena is 175 x 80 ft. Thanks!
The only products I know of are not very eco friendly…Roundup..killex…etc salt or spray with a little gas your state or local laws may not permit the use of any or all of these…The one thing you should do is keep ALL equine out of said area!!! ( just kidding…sort of..)You can also mechanically turn the sand exposing the roots to the sun and they will die.Try a spike tooth harrow.
