breaking in a 4year old?
hi, i have just bought a 4 year old, hes started all the ground work, lunged long reined had tack on ect.i have alot of experience with young horses but never actually broken one in, i have an experienced person on hand who is going to help me through it however just really excited and wanted a step by step guide really of how to go about if from sitting on him. i know the basics just want to check im right! thanks
Do ground training for at least 3 months before you start to break. You need a foundation before you move to mount the horse. Then after that put the tack on, lunge him them take him in to the arena & get on slowly. If you are able to have someone help you then lay on your belly first. Then slowly sit up. Step by step is a lot to type. Look on line there is a lot of training sites to read.
