how to correctly use glycerin soap?
i recently bought my first horse and i want to make sure i keep his tack nice and clean. I normally clean my tack by getting a warm bucket of water, dipping in the sponge or tooth brush, squeezing out most of the water, rub some glycerin soap on it and scrubbing the tack so there is white foam sudsy stuff, then wiping it off with a rag. my trainer said that’s the right way to do it but the saddle fitter and other people have said that’s wrong.
so how do you correctly clean tack? and is it a different way for each type of tack?(bridle, saddle, girth)
and how often should i condition and oil my tack? i have stuben oil
my trainer said i should clean it with glycerin, oil, then clean again
Well if you’re doing it wrong, I guess I have been too. That’s how I learned to use it, except I wipe off the excess soap, but not right away, I wait till after it starts to dry or does dry. Good luck.
