Are there any good equestrian overnight camps?
I am 13 years old looking for a good summer camp. I want this camp where you ride ALOT and spend ALOT of time near the horses. Also, I am a good rider, but I want it to be a camp where you learn alot and improve on your skills and get to do things like, try other disciplines, ride BAREBACK, and you dont feel too rushed. So, you get free time as well to relax. Oh and only answer if youd actually had experience with this camp, or have been there or something. (and I hope its not an extremely strict camp.
Thanks,
Bridget*
While I didn’t go to the camp, I did go to the Grier School, which hosts the Allegheny riding camp. I have heard great things about the camp as well.

Not sure if they ride bareback at the camp or not. I certainly don’t agree with the responder who said you would never be able to ride bareback unless it is on your own horse. When I learned to ride, many years ago, we rode bareback on school horses on occasion and I know the riding school still offers a bareback class (on school horses) at their bi-annual horse show.
Either way, look into the Allegheny Riding Camp.
