Is this bad? The amount of turn out this college provides?

Today, I visited Lake Erie College in Ohio for Equine studies. I was surprised with how small the equestrian campus was. Even though they had 65 horses, they said everyone’s horses only got at least an hour of turn out, and when and if you make friends, you can join with them and make the horses turn out longer. So, if you had about three other friends the horse would have four hours of turnout so the four horses could go out together.

I guess this makes the system fair… but it also seems a bit harsh. I own a five year old that hates being in a stall, so I found a farm that has paddocks attached to the stalls. I just don’t know what to do…

I considered keeping my horse at a barn close by to the school and just use the principles I learned and practice on him, but I don’t know how that would work regarding riding teams and showing him if I wanted to show my own horse.

Does anyone have any experience or advice? It would be appreciated :)

I thought of going to Lake Erie and then decided against it for this very reason- My Thoroughbred hates being stalled so it just wouldn’t work out. Your best bet is to board him at a nearby stable.

Well I hope everything works out!
