Tack for mules?
What type of tack is best for mules? Can a custom-made english saddle be used? thanks…
Mules are hard to fit and theres no ‘right’ tack actually.
You can get a custom made english, but english is way easier to fit on mules than western.
They are making english mule saddles with wider flatter trees. How is your mule built, is it horse or donkey backed? My show mule is horse backed, so horse saddles work on him, but my trail mule is donkey backed… so more creative fitting on her.
You will need a crupper attachment on your english saddle and you can get those from Dover in the pony crupper section and then have it customized for a larger mule.
