Restoring a model horse?
I have a fairly large model horse from when I was young that I’m trying to restore.
I was wondering how to get a few marks off of its body. The horse has plastic tack that was painted silver. Because the horse was sitting in the attic for so long the paint rubbed off the tack and onto the horse’s body. It’s not too bad, just a couple of silver spots. The horse is all black, if it matters.
Also, the horse has hair. The mane was braided, so it still looks pretty good. Unfortunately the same can’t be said of the tail. It’s tangle-free, but very frizzy and dull. How can I make the hair shiny and smooth again using household items? Could I use a hair straightener? I don’t want to have to buy any fancy supplies to fix it.
You might try using nail polish remover on the marks on the body. However if the horse is not made out of black plastic, he is just painted, then you will need some black acrylic paint to touch him up.
