EHV-1 virus….(20 charecters)?
From what i know the virus is to be known in washington, idaho, oregon, california, utah and colorado. Because of this horrible virus going around lets all take as much precaution as we can. Make sure to wash hands and disinfect boots everytime going in and out with our horses. the virus can be caught from tack, feed, clothing, touching and can be spread through the air. lets just all be as careful as we can to prevent future spreads of the virus. if you notice signs, such as a wobbly back end, snotty nose, temperature, high respiratory call a vet immediately. Quarantine your horse away from others. if you are boarding your horse, and your barn has not takin precautions please inform the owner to do so. It is best to not have incomming or outgoing horses in the barn. Lets try to keep this as under control as we can
It’s being recommended to take your horse’s resting temperature every morning to establish a baseline, and any horse showing an elevated temp should be considered a potential case, and precautions should be taken. Apparently fever is often the initial sign heralding the onset of the infection before other signs and symptoms become evident.
