Decorating horse tack?
Ive been looking at all the blinged up leather horse tack and got wondering how can I bling my own leather tack?? Id like to have cristals and etc, anyone have any ideas on what all I could decorate leather tack with and how to get it to stay on?
my grandma decorated her tack and it turned out looking really good and it has all stayed on. shes had it like that for a few yrs now. she got some gonchos from a saddle shop and then used a hole puncher to punch where she wanted them on her bridle and breastrap. then she screwed them in with some screws( i don’t really know what they’re called but they connect…kinda hard to explain) you could go to a saddle shop and they might be able to help you out. but it would be even simpler to just use a hot glue gun. shes gonna be decorating one of her headstalls again and that’s what shes gonna do because once they’re glued on with a hot glue gun they’re stuck for yrs to come. she says you can just go to walmart or any store with a sewing section and get the rhinestones or crystals that you want and hot glue them onto your tack. now i cannot guarantee it will work seeing as we haven’t tried it yet but were going to because the glue won’t ruin the leather and the worst that could happen would be that they wouldn’t stay…however that’s really, REALLY not likely because a hot glue gun really sticks things on. well i hope this helps.:)
