How do I get started doing the rated horse shows?
I’m trying to get started going to rated hsows this coming summer and school year. I have been riding for about 14-15 years now and I do the local hunter, equitation and jumpers, but mostly jumpers. I am leasing one of my trainers horses this summer to do the 3 ft local jumper shows and we may be going to a few B rated shows but she’s not real big on going to the long A rated stuff. I’m just wondering if anyone knows any trainers in the Maryland area that do the big rated stuff and will possibly be able to provide a horse for sale or lease since my horse is too old to be doing so many jumps. Also, if anyone has any tips on how to convince my parents that I can do this and that it’s not a waste of time and money would be helpful. Thanks!
I can’t help much with trainers in your area, but if you go to this forum http://www.chronicleforums.com/Forum/forumdisplay.php?f=77 you will be able to get some good suggestions.
I think the best way to go about getting your parent’s support is to show them (not tell them) how committed you are.
