I want to ride……?
but i cant really afford to go out on “pleasure” rides at the local dude ranch (nor do i enjoy being lead around by a boring, arrogant trail leader while having to tolerate inexperienced riders screaming and asking absurd questions) so im wondering if there is any horse owner in south florida (ft. lauderdale, hollywood, davie, cooper city) that needs there horses ridden? i owned and trained my own mare ( for 6 years ) and have 9 years riding experaince. i also worked my neighbers and godparends horse’s sometimes. i’ll groom, clean tack and even do some light mucking. i just miss horses, and riding.

Epiphanies had it well right. I lead trail rides now too ha, hopefully I don’t make them as miserable as you seem to have experienced in the past. You aren’t going to gain any experience from that you had it right. Craigslist is a great place to start, and there are always horses to be ridden no matter where you live. I used to trade stall cleaning for lessons when I was younger because my family couldn’t afford anything. There are always trainers that need horses exercised, I would start with a cutting, or reining trainer (if you are into the western thing that is). I am loping horses right now for a trainer that needs his horses exercised and doesn’t have time to do it himself. Put an ad out in the paper about what you want to do, there are always people that have horses that hardly ever ride them. I ride a lady’s horses every spring before she gets on them, I guess she wants me to work out the winter kinks but there is never anything wrong with them and they are perfectly fine to ride. Good luck, a little tenacity will usually go a long ways.
