EVENTING?????????…………?
Hi, I would love to get into eventing with my horse. He absolutely loves to jump and canter/gallop so I think we would d great in that.
We pretty much just ride at local shows, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any eventing shows in Kentucky, or some cross country places to practice riding and get an eventing trainer? I live in Nothern Kentucky, close to Ohio, so I wouldn’t want to go much father than Lexington or so. Thank for your help!

If you’re serious about eventing, you should definitely look into working with an eventing trainer. Riding a cross country course and just galloping around in a field are very different, and just entering an event without any guidance can be very dangerous and it’s when people get hurt. Getting in contact with a trainer will also help you in finding places to practice cross country. The trainer might even have their own xc jumps at their barn that if you ride with them, they can train you over them. I’m in Area 1 and for the most part, eventing season is over because of weather, but because you’re further south and weather is still good, there might be events or a trial coming up.
