I am doing my first small show, and it is walk/trot pleasure, equestrian, and walk/trot hunter…?
I have never done a show so I don’t know what I will be doing exactly ( obviously walk and trotting, but is it sitting trot, posting, is this in a group, and is it just around the ring? what is the difference between the three classes?

Walk and trot pleasure: is about your horses movements and if he is having fun. How does he trot and walk. Is he going forward and moving well. Have a long rein for this class and don’t go fast.
Equitation:
Is about you. Are you in good rhythm with your horse? How is your aids and are you using them correctly? If your body confident and strong? Is your horse listening to you? Are you jumping and changing the lead well? Are you rushing? That stuff…
Hunter:
Is about the horse and how he is moving? Is he listening to you? Are your aids good? How is his movments? Is his head in a good position? How about you body?
Those are the type of questions you need to ask your self when you are out in the show ring for the type of class!!!
