What colour is the Queen’s blotting paper?

This question comes up in quizzes and the answer given is that it is black (so that no-one can read what she has blotted). But how would you know if this is true – not just something that gets copied from one quiz to the next? Like the question about military equestrian statues – supposedly the number of hooves raised shows how the rider died, whether on the battle-field or not. This turns out to be false, according to Snopes.com (and the UK quiz show, QI), but it still comes up in quizzes.
And what colour is the “black box” flight recorder carried on aeroplanes? And how do you know?

The queens blotting paper is black.

Flight black box is orange I pack and ship them every day.
