Question About Equestrianism?
Okay, if you’ve read/ seen my latest questions, I want to do Dressage and maybe Show Jumping. I was just wondering though, why is everything so expensive? Also, what do you think on Show Jumping and Dressage? Last question, how can I make money to pay for a helmet, breeches, boots and other things needed for these two sports or any other Equestrian sports? Thanks so much! Merry Christmas!

Everything is so expensive because it’s inelastic – meaning there are no substitutes for us equestrians to go buy something else. So everyone hikes up their prices because we really have no where else to go lol… we are sort of forced to pay that much because we NEED those things, you know? Some of it is reasonable though… it’s the quality leather, craftsmanship, etc, that makes it so valuable.
What do I think on Show Jumping and Dressage? I love both of them. I’m an eventer so dressage, jumping, and cross country are my favorite things.
Let me just say, I had no idea you were 14, because your grammar and spelling is quite good for a 14 year old. Good job! I hate seeing the terrible writing that some young people display on here. At 14 you could do odd jobs like mow lawns (or shovel snow off of sidewalks… that’s more realistic this time of year!), you could ask your parents if there are things they need you to do that you could earn money for. You could go and clean stalls and do other chores at a local stables. You could babysit (I hate babysitting, but hey, whatever it takes to make some money LOL). I’m sure you will find something to do.
