Howrse Equestrian Center question?
I’ve been doing my research on how to raise money for my EC, and I’ve found out that in order to get a good reserve, I should have not boarded my horses there– I should have grown crops instead for a while.
Anyway, my questions: I have thirteen horses, so would it be financially wise for me to board them elsewhere and start using my pastures for crops? Or should I just keep my horses with me? If so, how should I go about getting more funds?
It would be best to concentrate on crops rather than boarders – you don’t make much equus off boarders anyway (most of the top ranked EC’s only set the boarding at 10e per night due to this). So whilst you are trying to achieve this, it’s best to board the horses you wish to look after in another centre.
The best thing would be to grow crops and sell for a profit. If you don’t have any passes and can’t afford the expensive 15acre 100% fertile meadow, the cheaper 15acre 50% meadow will still give more crop yield than the 6acre 100% fertile one does. Flax for spring and wheat for summer. You can also get up to 10 wheat crop yields in summer if you plant 5 meadows right at the start and 5 meadows right on the last day (since summer on Howrse lasts longer).
You can also buy droppings from the store, take them back to your meadows and turn them into manure. Then, assuming you don’t need them for your crops (it’s the best fertiliser and will bring you the most crop growth), you can make a profit of up to 40e per unit of manure sold back to the store.
Once you have enough to buy the largest 100% fertile meadows, get at least one of those and then when you can, put a scarecrow on that – this will bring even more crop yield (50% more with a scarecrow), which in turn brings even more profit. Just as a note though: be very careful what you put a scarecrow on as you cannot take them out of the meadow once there.
I can help you better on-site if a pm is sent – the link to my page on Howrse is on my page here
