Chances of getting accepted as a transfer?
I am currently a second semester freshman at the University of South Florida, and I am hoping to transfer to either UVa or W&M. My high school GPA was 3.62, but I went to high school in three different schools in Tennessee, Rhode Island, and finally graduating in Italy (military family). I was involved soccer for 2 years, cross country for 1 (and was team captain), NHS, Piano, and Italian Club. I also have been a horseback rider since I was 7 years old.
At USF, my GPA is a 3.66, I am a member of the university’s equestrian team, a member of Chi Omega sorority, and recently invited to join the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society.
So, what do you think my chances are of getting accepted? Sorry this was so long, and thank you so much for taking the time to read it!
I’ve already sent my applications. I am just in the waiting period and wondering if I am wasting my time hoping I’ll get in or if I have a legitimate chance of getting in… The waiting is the worst!
Two of the previous answerers were giving GPA “Requirements” but those are not necessarily relevant to you. Those are probably average of accepting high school students. Since you are a transfer student, your GPA does not need to be as high. Besides, your GPA is really good for college!
All of your activities will look really good on the application. Did you hold any exec positions in XO? Things like that show leadership and dedication and are definitely a plus.
Good luck!
