Question About Tall Equestrian Field Boots?

Today I bought a new pair of tall boots that are used and were on Consignment.

They are Effingham Field Boots.

Everything fits really well except the calf.
So, what we did was take them to a place that repairs clothes and shoes of all types… They measured my calf and are taking out the stripe on the back and putting on an extra 2 inches to the calf.

They are a size 9 1/2 womens, Tall, Wide calf.

I know that everything fits well because they cute out the back of the boots while I was there and had me try them on. So all we need is to get the calf part extended and we’ll be off! :)

So my questions are:

1. I’ve never had slip on tall boots before, so how can I make it easy to get them on?

2. If you’ve ever had Effingham boots, what did you or do you think of them?
No, They do not have a zipper on the back.

Well, I’ve never had Effingham boots, so I can’t answer that, but I’ll answer your other question.
1. There are special socks for tall boots, and they are very slippery, but make sure you get the silky kind, otherwise it’ll just be like a regular sock that is really tall. There are also something called ‘boot pulls’ and they hook onto these two things inside your tall boots, and you pull, and it will make it really easy. Another thing you need, to take them off, is a boot jack. They come in plastic or wood. You slip your heel into one end and step on it with the other foot and pull your heel back. They just come right off. Here are some pictures:
