What is Your Opinion on the Mule Ride Accident At the San Diego Wild Animal Park?
A couple of days ago an 89 yr old man fell off the mule before the ride even got going – it was to be a trail ride through some of the rarest habitat in CA. He died a couple of days later from that and from prexisting medical problems. He signed a waiver before getting on. My own opinion is that all equestrian activities are inherently risky and he chose to take the risk. I hope the WAP is not sued or harmed in any way. If you remove all risk from life there is no life left.
I agree that due to his age it wasn’t the wisest move. But if they had refused for that reason then they’d have been hit with accusations of age discrimination. Sometimes you just can’t win.
I think at 89, any day could be your last so you shouldn’t be allowed to sue no matter how you die. You’ve already lived 15 years past the average man. We should start charging them for hanging around that long.
