Going across country – recommended sights?
We are taking a two week road trip and I am really eager to know what sights are a must see. We plan on traveling through Indiana, Illinois, Iowa/Wisconsin, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada… that area. We may be able to go states near the ones listed, but nothing like Texas or Washington D.C. We will be in Yellowstone 25th/26th of July. Besides that, (and Mount Rushmore) we have no idea where to go! Any ideas? I’m interested in museums, national parks, LOVE nature/mountains.
I am also a photographer so I am looking for picture perfect shots. I would love to see wild horses, and I’m looking for a Western tack store to buy chaps and boots. A place I could ride horses would be nice too, but it would have to offer cantering/advanced riding. We are pulling a small uhaul so mountains with thin and winding roads may not be possible to visit. Our final destination will be California. References/pictures would be wonderful too!
Thanks all!
What a great trip! Devil’s Tower in Wyoming and definitely Rushmore. You may not plan to go this far north, but Glacier National Park is amazing. It’s in Montana on the Canadian border.
Good luck!
